Creator God,

Maker of this day and all our days,

Let us live this day in holy tension:

Mindful of your presence

While pursuing You with urgency;

Celebrating all you have done

While holding godly sorrow over our sin;

Embracing the joy of our salvation

While begging for mercy on us, sinners.

Stepping into the darkness of the unknown

While walking in the Light;

Pressing on with endurance

While being still to know You are God.

Let us live this day in holy tension,

And each day afterward.
